Building on the news last week that Assiniboine Credit Union (ACU) is once again one of Manitoba’s Top Employers, ACU has been named one of the top social purpose companies in Canada.
A new report by Corporate Knights assesses how companies in Canada make social and environmental commitments and effectively put their words and values into action. Assiniboine Credit Union’s result was placed in the top category – a Platinum rating.
The result demonstrates that ACU has been very successful in integrating purpose into every aspect of who the organization is and what it does, including governance, corporate goals, and reporting on outcomes. ACU builds its purpose into policies, corporate strategy, culture, and performance objectives.
"Assiniboine Credit Union was selected from an initial sample of 197 businesses and is featured in this report as one out of only 34 businesses who have stated a clear societal purpose. While we are at the frontier of social purpose execution, each of these 34 businesses is taking steps to help put society on a sustainable path." explained Toby Heaps, the CEO and Co-founder of Corporate Knights.
Along with our B Corp designation, this is one more affirmation that ACU is meaningfully differentiating itself through living its values and putting them into action while contributing to a sustainable future for all.
