For the 11th year in a row, ACU has been recognized as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers.
The announcement was made this morning by the editors of Canada’s Top Employers and comes on the heels of ACU being named a Top Manitoba Employer last month.
As Canadians’ priorities evolve and they’re looking to do business with organizations that employ sustainable business practices, more and more companies are developing green statements and policies. Sustainable business and employment practices have been written into ACU’s operating policies and procedures for decades.
“Our approach to values-based banking includes a triple-bottom-line commitment to people, planet and prosperity,” says ACU President & CEO Kevin Sitka. “A commitment to sustainable business practices applies to every operational unit, our activities in the community and our relationship with employees.”
ACU was chosen by the editors of Canada’s Top Employers. Companies are judged on unique environmental initiatives and programs they have developed; reducing the organization's own environmental footprint; employee involvement; and the extent to which these initiatives have become linked to the employer's public identity. They are then compared to other organizations in their field. Here’s why ACU was recognized.
“This recognition as meaningful today as it was the first time we received it,” says Sitka. “Perhaps more so, in fact, as it says ACU remains a leader among values-based businesses.”
